Caxixi

Description

From the North of Ghana, made around Bolgatanga by ythe basket weavers. Theses are the clasic shaker made from coloured dried grass woven into a calabash base filled with small stones. Now used throughout Ghana, locally known as ‘Torowa’ in Twi, ‘Akaye’ in Ewe and ‘Siyalim’ in Dagomba.
