Ghana got it’s name from the ‘Ancient Empire of Ghana’, that existing between 830 and 1235 AD, located in Southeastern Mauritania and Western Mali. In 1957 the British Empire ‘Gold Coast’ gained its independance and named itelf Ghana.
The Culture of Ghana is the life and history of its different tribal /ethnic groups. The Akan, Mole-Dagbon, Ewe, Ga-Dangme, Guan, Gurma, Gurunsi, Mande-Busanga, Hausa, Zabarema and Fulani.
Ewe Tribe people are found in South East Ghana, Southern Togo, Benin and South West Nigeria.
The Lobi are found in the North west of Ghana.
The Ashantis inhabit the central and Southern Ghana.
Dagombas created by a group of invaders who entered the lands from the north east around the 13th century.
The Ga- Adagmes migrated from Nigeria through Benin and Togo, settling on the coast of Ghana around the 13th Century.
Found in the North of Ghana and Burkina Faso.
