Ghanaian Xylophone,  We look at rhythmic techniques and exercises. Learning traditional Ghanaian music from the Dagarti, Lobi and Sisala tribes and adapting Ghanaian drumming music to xylophone.

Performance Group

The idea is to take your playing to the next level. A certain level of commitment is required – expectation of practice /& or/ attending another class /& or/ certain level of experience. We will not all be learning all the parts as in the workshops, but concentrating on learning one part well within an ensemble. This way we shall quickly build up a repertoire. To begin with I shall play the lead part, but I will be very happy and even relieved to pass it on to any of you who can play some or all of it. As with all the workshops I teach, all mistakes will be welcome, but you may be moved to easier parts if you are struggling, until your level has risen. You will be encouraged to practice during the week by yourself and if you can with others from the group. Different levels of ability are welcome, but we shall, practice and perform to our strengths. In the group we will bring what we have learnt together, at home we shall practice and develop our skills. Support and suggestions, for your practice shall be given.

We will soon be making a beautiful music mixing the drums, xylophone and percussion, performing with and hopefully without myself.
